Mission
To assist children, youth, and adults with learning disabilities, and those who support them, through information sharing, support, and relevant programs.
Vision
To be an established organization clearly recognized as a leader in the provision of innovative services to address the wide range of needs of those living with the challenges of a learning disability.
Goals
To assist people with learning disabilities and their families in meeting their expressed needs by:
- Providing support, guidance, and resource information;
- Providing the opportunity for the sharing of information and common concerns;
- Encouraging research in the field of learning disabilities; and
- Supporting appropriate legislative initiatives to assist children, youth, and adults with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, and associated disorders.
To further the educational, social, recreational, legal, medical, vocational, and employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
To acquaint professionals working in the above listed fields, namely education, recreation, legislation and justice, health, vocational training, and employment with the current literature and research in the field of learning disabilities.
To encourage the community at large to develop an awareness of, an empathy for, and an interest in the problems faced by people with learning disabilities.
